The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce applications are now being accepted to host an AmericCorps member during the second year of the Guiding Ohio Online program. Members will serve in selected libraries during the 2016-2017 program year. AmeriCorps members will assist libraries with computer instruction, technology-focused community outreach, hands-on help, and other technology-related duties. Program activities are primarily in the areas of workforce enhancement and digital literacy. Please see guidingohioonline.org/training for a list of potential training packets available for AmeriCorps members to use with patrons.
Libraries that wish to participate in this program must provide a small matching fund to secure either a full-time AmeriCorps member (1700 hours in the 11-month term) or part-time AmeriCorps member (900 hours in the 11-month term).
Part-time: Library match is $1250.00
Full-time: Library match is $2500.00
Guiding Ohio Online AmeriCorps members serve an 11-month term, tentatively scheduled to begin September 19, 2016. Applications for libraries new to the program and for libraries who participated in the 2015-2016 program are available at the bottom of this page. Applications are due April 8.
