What We're All About

Guiding Ohio Online is an AmeriCorps program that places members in rural Ohio libraries to deliver digital literacy training through computer classes, one-on-one computer assistance, outreach, and volunteer recruitment. Our vision is for every Ohioan to be able to fully participate in online government, search and apply for jobs online, understand the risks and benefits of internet finance, connect with family online, and protect personal information in the digital age.

Great Story...

Great Stories are written by Guiding Ohio Online AmeriCorps members about their service.

Perhaps my favorite benefit of my position here at the Jackson City Library has been the chance to get to know some of the local personalities I may have never run into otherwise. I seem to attract interesting characters wherever I go and I think I have “Leveled Up” in my time here. Like most of us have expressed in our monthly gatherings, our clientele leans toward older folks and they often come back repeatedly for help with the same issues. I have been blessed with 3 local gents who not only seem to be here for the assistance, but for company as well. One due to loneliness, one because he just loves to socialize, and my last buddy wants to escape from his wife for a while and isn’t afraid to say so….lol.
